BA Mathew is a writer based in Seattle, WA. She's a former teacher and now a freelance writer and editor with an MFA in Writing for Children/YA from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
She writes fantasy, young adult fiction, and picture book manuscripts, focusing on diverse stories and characters. In her writing journey, she enjoys learning the craft of editing. Currently, she's collaborating on a graphic novel project with a talented illustrator. As an SCBWI and Kids Comics Unite member, she participates in bi-monthly critiques with other experienced writers and illustrators. The opportunity to read, write, and edit for a living allows her to shape her work and assist others on their path to publishing. When she isn't writing, she enjoys time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and listening to music. Her travels of the past 20 years have inspired her graphic novel WIP.

Author Statement
The importance of giving voice to a character whose experiences highlight their culture and challenges is more relevant today than ever before. It is also essential to consider the conflicts of both the past and the present.
